Songwriting Tips - 12 Tips to Write Better Songs
Learn from hit songs: One comment technique to become good at anything in life is to, "Copy from the best." The same principles apply in songwriting. Become proficient at studying popular songs. Figure out what makes does songs so popular, and so successful. Learn how the most popular songs are structured so you get an idea of what people like.
Create beautiful melodies: The majority of good songs tend to have one characteristic in common, "they have contagious melodies." This is crucial for good songwriting. As a songwriter myself-I always start my songs with the melody first. Then I create the lyrics around it.
Learn Theory: Music theory is an important part of understanding songwriting. You don't have to be classically trained, but learning the basics will help.
Branch Out: Songwriters don't only write for genres they like personally. Learn about the conventions of other types of music.
Open Mindedness: Be open-minded about working with musicians that you'd never listen to. Any work you can get is a good thing.
Partner with a musician: This can get you credits on their CDs, which goes a long way toward getting new work.
Licensing and Copyrighting: Learn about these important legal aspects of the music business. They ensure that you get paid!
Other Venues: Television and film are viable venues for songwriters.

The Talent - How Talent Is Found
Talent. One word that is laden with such richness and beauty and yet a word that is oftentimes used too flippantly. For Talent is a gift which is bestowed upon a person to share with mankind. To "find talent" is not difficult for the person who possesses it. Talent will not be denied, neither will it be silenced nor tossed aside like an old garment. And it can never be killed, for Talent is a living energy that resides deep within a person's psyche, in the very soul. The person born with a talent has a deep knowing, a yearning if you will, that there is something which he or she has that is exceedingly special and precious, and which has to be identified and lived out and enjoyed and shared, in order for the person to be whole, and to authentically fulfill the purpose for which this Talent was bestowed upon him or her.
Yet sadly and all too frequently, in the hustle and bustle of life's crushing responsibilities a person will endeavor to ignore their Talent. Perhaps it was told them that there could surely be no place for such frivolity as to nourish a burning desire to play the guitar or to compose the most beautiful music. Such continued negative input, especially from those nearest and dearest can result in the person denying their Talent, thus forcing him or her to exist within a shell of dry emptiness, ready to crack and break into a thousand pieces from pure soul sadness and the excruciating pain of being denied the ability to fulfill the reason for which they and their Talent were born.
I know of such a person. A born musician, a deeply sensitive and intuitive person. A child prodigy who played the guitar by ear. His nimble little fingers sometimes racing across the frets, other times caressing the strings of the guitar birthing the music once again of the great composers. As an adult he was denied the chance to nurture his Talent. He bowed to the pressure of Talent's persecutors and pursued the other "sensible" roads of reason which were being trodden daily by the herd. His authentic self was cast aside with his Talent. But all the while, underneath the ice-cold sobriety of his dreary day to day life, his Talent was vibrantly alive, never just gently nudging at him. No it was pushing and pulling at him, it was pounding his very being, screaming to be allowed to be expressed, to be free...
And now as an adult, with his guitar held lovingly within his arms he quietly begins to pick at the strings, his demeanor changes, it softens, there comes a sense of lightness around him. Talent will not, cannot be silenced. His fingers once again begin their journey on this beautiful instrument. The music that he makes is his own, and it is music which is as a balm for the broken souls of the world.
Now he is complete, now he is fulfilled, now he is truly his authentic self. Now he is alive.
We cannot hide Talent, for Talent will always be found!

If you let yourself become confused, hassled and disorganized, the problems that are actually opportunities in work clothes will seem all too difficult to handle. The opportunities will slip past you, and you will just be looking at the problems and not what's behind them. It is not important how you look at things but what you see there.
Turn your mind towards positive thinking. Decide to finish the jobs according to priorities, spare a few moments to absorb the beauty that surrounds you, count your blessings, and read some inspirational messages. Create your own happiness.
Remember, the amazing thing about life is that, you choose what you allow into it. You choose how things affect you, you choose how you react. Happiness is a Choice. Make it. Keep smiling!

Album Pertama Buat Akim (AF7) Teruja
Akim AF7KUALA LUMPUR: Penyanyi Afiq Hakim Ahmad atau Akim (AF7) memberitahu teruja dengan pembikinan album pertamanya yang bakal dilancarkan hujung tahun ini.
Akim berkata, dia berasa seronok kerana dapat melibatkan diri sepenuhnya dalam pembikinan album itu dan tidak hanya mengharapkan pihak penerbit melakukan untuknya.
"Saya terlibat secara keseluruhan pembikinan album tersebut daripada mencipta lagu kepada proses rakaman.
"Memandangkan ini adalah album pertama saya gembira pandangan dan idea saya diterima untuk menghasilkan album ini," ujarnya ketika ditemui mStar Online di sini baru-baru ini.
Dalam pada itu Akim berkata, menerusi album yang masih belum mempunyai judul itu, ia bakal memuatkan lapan buah lagu.
Tambahnya, dia bekerjasama sepenuhnya dengan komposer tempatan untuk menghasilkan album tersebut.
Sementara itu, Akim turut memberitahu dia gembira apabila filem pertama lakonannya, Horay Horay bakal ditayangkan pada Mac tahun hadapan.
Filem arahan Saw Teong Hin itu turut menampilkan Killa Fairy, Adibah Nor dan Harun Salim Bachik.
"Saya sudah bekerja dengan Teong Hin sebelum ini melalui drama “Kau dan Aku” dan apabila mendapat tawaran tersebut saya tidak berfikir panjang.
"Melalui filem pertama ini juga saya dapat melebarkan sayap dalam bidang lakonan apabila ke tahap seterusnya dan tidak sabar untuk melihat reaksi penonton terhadap filem ini," ujarnya.
Selain itu, Akim memberitahu untuk filem berkenaan dia turut merakamkan tiga buah lagu nyanyian Allahyarham Datuk Sudirman.
"Filem berkenaan ada menyelitkan elemen muzikal dan di dalam tersebut ada babak di mana saya akan menyanyikan lagu dendangan Allahyarham," katanya.
Akim berkata, walaupun mempunyai pengalaman berlakon dalam drama bersiri sebelum ini, “Horay Horay” memerlukan dia bersedia dengan lebih teliti sebelum datang ke set penggambaran selain banyak membuat kajian terhadap watak yang dibawa

KL, 12 OGOS 2011: Pagi semalam, teman rakan Murai Batu telah diberi peluang untuk menonton filem baru terbitan Tayangan Unggul yang berkonsepkan muzikal, Horee! Hoore! arahan Saw Teong Hin.
Menariknya tentang filem tersebut, ianya memaparkan lagu-lagu hits nyanyian Allahyarham Sudirman Hj Arshad yang masih diingati oleh kita semua sampai hari ini.
Antaranya ialah seperti Balik Kampung, Basikal Tua, ...Merisik Khabar, Milik Siapakah Hati Ini, Pelangi Petang dan Salam Terakhir. Namun, ianya telah diberikan susunan muzik yang baru oleh komposer Audi Mok serta disampaikan oleh barisan pelakonnya sendiri.
Barisan pelakonnya pula terdiri daripada wajah-wajah baru dalam industri perfileman Malaysia. Selebihnya yang sudah dikenali seperti Akim AF7, Harun Salim Bachik, Adibah Nor, Fauziah Nawi serta Sharonizam.
Akim AF7 bertindak sebagai teraju utama dalam filem ni dan yang bestnya tu, dia berlakon sebagai pelajar yang popular di sebuah sekolah menengah tetapi jatuh hati dengan seorang gadis yang chubby di sekolahnya.
Rakan-rakannya tak berapa setuju bila diaorang dapat tahu Akim AF7 minat pada gadis chubby tu. Tapi, Akim tetap tidak peduli.
Kata Akim AF7: Besar-Besar Pun Okey Apa!
Teman Murai Batu cakap lagi, dialog yang dilontarkan oleh Akim Af7 itu nampaknya cukup digemari oleh beberapa wartawan serta editor yang diberi kesempatan untuk menonton filem tersebut.
Malah, rata-rata mereka juga menyukai filem tersebut kerana ia sebuah filem muzikal yang mudah untuk difahami, ada lawaknya, ada emosinya tapi yang paling menarik, ianya juga sarat dengan acuan budaya Melayu serta tak lari dari akidah agama.
Menariknya tentang filem tersebut, ianya memaparkan lagu-lagu hits nyanyian Allahyarham Sudirman Hj Arshad yang masih diingati oleh kita semua sampai hari ini.

Aku sAyang kAMu - pArt fiVe
Sayup - sayup kedengaran. Jauh. Terasa cukup jauh darinya namun suara itu tidak asing dalam hatinya. Ya, suara itu pemilik hatinya. Mana mungkin suara itu asing. Tapi kenapa sangat jauh sekali bunyi nya? Dan di mana dia? Kenapa hanya hitam yang menyelubungi pandangannya?
Tidak juga. Sesekali cahaya putih hadir menyinar menyilaukan penglihatan. Tapi dia masih dalam kegelapan. Di mana dia? Dia sendiri tidak tahu. Fikirannya? Dia sendiri tidak tahu sama ada dia masih mampu berfikir. Apa yang dia tahu, dia benar- benar ingin melihat gadis itu tersenyum lagi di hadapannya. Tangannya di genggam. namun dia tidak punyai idea milik siapakah jemari yang menggenggam. Mahu di genggam kembali namun di rasakan tenaganya tiada. 'Aku, dah mati ke?' hatinya berdetus sendiri. Dia cuba untuk berpaling namun kaku. Hilang kaupayaan untuk mengawal tubuhnya sendiri, mungkin dia harus panik atau setidak-tidaknya meraung untuk bantuan dengan segera. Namun hatinya kosong. Lesu,dia hanya mahu kan gadis itu di situ, tersenyum padanya seperti dulu. Senyuman yang sudah lama tidak dia miliki. Senyuman yang mampu mengembalikan semangat yang terkubur dalm dirinya.
"Andy!" tiba-tiba sahaja suara gadis itu menerjah masuk ke dalam sanubarinya,memaksa dia kembali ke alam nyata; walaupun matanya masih terasa terpejam rapat.
"Aina," dia berbisik sendiri. Tidak tahu jika hatinya ataupun bibirnya yang berbicara. Mungkin dia sendiri tidak tahu apa yang dia rasakan.
"Andy! Saya ada kat sini! Bukak la mata awak!" suara itu menerjah lagi dalam kesamaran. Aina. Lelaki itu cuba untuk membuka matanya. Cuba untuk melihat dunia selain kegelapan. Namun cahaya terang yang berselang dengan kegelapan hanya menyakitkan penglihatannya. Kat mana ni? Dia menyoal sendiri cuba untuk berpaling ke sisinya. Seluruh tenaganya di kerah,hanya untuk berpaling ke kanannya dan dia di situ.
'Kenapa menangis? Senyumlah,' dia cuba untuk berbicara tapi lidahnya kelu. Dia benci melihat Aina terus menitiskan air matanya untuk dia.
"Janganlah nangis! Buruklah rupa awak menangis!" jerit lelaki itu namun masih lagi menahan suaranya.
"Awak ingat saya nak sangat ke menangis hah?! Dia keluar dengan sendiri lah!" gadis itu menjerit ke arahnya sekuat hati. Dia senang lelaki itu cuba untuk memujuknya namun tidak senang dengan caranya; dan ternyata teriakan gadis itu mengejutkan lelaki itu.
"Awak jerit kat saya tu kenapa??" lelaki itu kembali menjerit ke arahnya sambil terus mengurut dadanya,menyatakan kononnya dia sangat terkejut dengan kelakuan gadis muda itu.
"Dah tu! Saya tengah sedih, bukannya awak nak pujuk! Tambah menyakitkan hati saya adalah!" gadis itu menangis semakin kuat. Lelaki itu mengeluh. Orang ramai yang lalu lalang pasti tidak melepaskan peluang untuk memandang. Ada yang ketawa, ada yang mencebik, ada juga yang memandangnya dengan perasaan penuh benci. Apa salahnya? Dia sendiri tidak tahu.
"Baiklah,baiklah. Dah la tu,jangan nangis lagi. Orang ingat saya jahat nanti," Lelaki itu beralah.
"Tak cukkup baik! Saya masih lagi sedih! " gadis itu terus menangis sekuat hatinya;semakin banyak perhatian yang di terima.
Lelaki itu berhebti seketika,berfikir. Apa cara terbaik untuuk memujuk gadis manja ini agaknya?
"Ais krim nak? Saya belanja?" tangisan gadis itu reda serta merta,berpaling ke arah lelaki itu selepas mengesat air matanya.
"Saya nak yang besar!" jeritnya, masih lagi teresak-esak walaupun tangisnya sudah berhenti.
Andy ketawa kecil,"baiklah puan! Apa saja yang puan nak!" Andy mendabik tangannya sambil menundukkan badannya, ala-ala seorang tentera Jepun memberi hormat kepada ketuanya dan dengan pantas, senyuman terukir di bibir anak gadis itu.
